Are you feeling bored by the never ending sameness of life right now? It may be time to play a game called beginner’s mind.

Ok, it’s not really a game. But it could be.

We’ve talked about beginner’s mind before. It’s one of my favorite things in the world. Strange how often I forget about it.

In the beginner’s mind, every moment is a new opportunity! It’s not the same as the last. Not at all. If you’re paying attention. That person you looked at this morning (and thought, ugh, boring) is not the same at the end of the day. And you, only you have the power and grace to discover what’s new. And if you don’t choose to, that’s ok. But the “boring” then becomes a reflection of your perception. Of you.

AHHHH! Shit, right? This applies to everything not just humans.

So here’s the game. Look around you at the people, animals and things in your world. Smile at them and ask (in your head) what glorious and beautiful mysteries will you reveal to me today? Remember to thank them. This you can do out loud or in your head.

Also, at least one time today, look in the mirror and repeat these words: Dang woman, you are smokin hot. I’m gonna marry you one day. You’re welcome to make up your own words, as long as they acknowledge your smokin hotness.
