Hey boo. First of all, let’s establish how truly breathtaking you are. Right here. Right now. Unshowered, dirty hair, slept in, skipped your workout, passed on your meditation, yada yada yada. Freaking breathtaking. Magnetic. Pulsing with possibility. Aliveness. Wonder.
I could stop there. That’s a pretty good love note. And, I want to say something about discipline. The kindness of discipline. And not because I’ve got it figured out— because sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t. So I’m not even sure you can call it discipline.
And you know what. Who cares.
The kindness of discipline, is showing up on behalf of you, whether you feel like it or not. Because you are worth your time. It’s also never ever ever beating up on yourself when you don’t. Shit happens.
So how do you show up when you don’t feel like it? I listened to a soothing Martha Beck podcast on overwhelm yesterday (I’ll link it below). She talked about using your five senses to return to your creative brain— and all magic happens in your creative brain! Five senses. Touch, taste, smell, hearing, sight. Contemplate each of these senses and allow to come to mind five favorite pleasures of each.
Sunsets on lake Miltona, flannel sheets, the fountain burbling below my window, fresh ground coffee (don’t love the taste, love the smell), my.morning chai latte and so on…
It’s your turn. Dwell in your senses. I’d love to hear what you find. And what comes next.
You are loved. So deeply loved.
Xo
